Years go by so fast these days, just the other day I was jotting down my thank you note of 2013, 2014 and now it’s a note of 2015. Marvelously supported, is the #DeejaysLoungeMovement all praise goes to God and to each and every person that is and has been part of this family in one way or the other. It’s never easy, and at times the results overwhelm us as it’s never what we expected from our planning and executions. What is evident though from my observations and hands on experience is that dealing with people is and will always be a never ending learning experience. Evidently though is that, without critics.. what you’re doing is null. Critics strike the balance and you need them just as much as you need people that praise you so always welcome critics and analyze their feedback and or reactions and take appropriate measures to address what needs to be addressed.

I dedicated 2015 to my favorite tempo which is #MidTempo and by so doing I have actually accomplished what I’ve always wanted to do and achieving it makes me happy in that, I have shared my taste of music selection and the kind of music and tempo I would love to see grow and being played in live gigs around the world. Down-tempo is not everyone’s cup of tea however; we can always teach/influence others about the taste and senses of this cup that some of us drink of, of.
As a writer and a person that loves to motivate others, I write a lot of quotes that speak and address various life situations… One of my favorite quotes that I always try to follow and I just recently wrote is; “We all have to start somewhere, start with yourself”. It took me years to actually come to realize this and for sure it has worked for me in many instances and I view life and every opportunity very differently ever since I wrote this quote because, it really speaks to me and would probably speak to a lot more other people other than myself.

I have done a lot of things for other people, I have gone through a lot just to please other people, I have been in situations where I thought more about other people’s happiness than mine… all in the name of goodwill and genuine love and humanity. With all this being said and done we’re all humans and as humans we’re mostly motivated by “what’s in it for me”? and this question has various answers. One of my answers to this “what’s in it for me” question is.. ME!

Music has been a great companion in my life and has taken me through different phases whether good or bad and I’m thankful to the choice of music I listen to because it has done wonders for me. In another turn of events, my passion is also comedy and I decided to pursue my passion for Stand Up Comedy in October this year. I have seen myself performing in establishments I only dreamt of performing in and that proved to me that nothing is impossible if you put your mind and full dedication to it. Within just two months of doing stand up I’ve performed at the following places, various venues & events in Mohlakeng Township, The Bannister Hotel in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, Parker’s Comedy Club in Silverstars Casino in Johannesburg and my next do or die gig which will be my first one for 2016 will be at Monte Casino in Johannesburg, praying that this will be great and a good opener for more gigs in the year and going forward in my stand up comedy career.

With this new tapped venture of comedy, Stand Up Comedy, I will be dedicating my 2016 into making it a success and getting a few individuals along with me. Talent is everywhere and it’s up to us to bring it to the fore-front and for people to recognize it we’re going to create platforms that will ensure that comedians are discovered and celebrated. We need more laughter in the world as we’re surrounded by too many challenges, sadness and overall difficult circumstances that make us forget about the good side of life and the things we take for granted and or are not aware of.
